Global Funding – Internal Admits
Explore the resources Honors provides to engage with the world.
These resources are specifically for our internal admits (i.e., students who joined the Honors Program after matriculation into Northeastern). For students who joined during the Fall semester of their first year, please refer to Global Funding for First Year Admits.
Internal Admit Global Funding
Internal admits can request funding to defray some of the costs incurred by engaging in Northeastern global opportunities.
Additional Funding Opportunities
The DOC Fee Waiver and Global Bank Account opportunities are only available for first year Honors students who were admitted to the Honors Program prior to enrolling at Northeastern.
Passport Reimbursement
All students who are U.S. citizens are eligible for assistance in obtaining their first passport. This reimbursement does not apply towards passport renewals or to non-U.S. citizens.
Learn more about the fees that are covered
The Honors Program will reimburse students for the following fees incurred in applying for their first passport:
- Passport application fee ($130)
- Execution fee ($35)
- Photo fee ($17)
Process for obtaining passport reimbursement
Students will need to pay for each fee using three separate checks. The Honors Program will then provide reimbursement.
Please contact the Honors Program with any questions.
Presidential Global Scholarship
Internal admits are eligible to apply for the Presidential Global Scholarship. This scholarship, which is managed by Student Financial Services, provides $1,000 – $6,000 to cover global co-op related costs. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply.
Additional Funding and Financial Aid Opportunities
There are many additional funding sources for global endeavors open to all Honors students regardless of time of program entry. They include generous scholarships specifically for students who receive Pell Grants. Students are encouraged to prepare their applications early.
Funding Opportunities
In order to increase the likelihood of successfully applying for funds, all applicants should review funding details and prepare application long before the deadline. Students who are applying for non-NU funding are strongly encouraged to consult the NU Undergraduate Research and Fellowships office in order to receive guidance on putting together a competitive application.
