Global Opportunities

Meaningful engagement with the world around you.

Today’s challenges and opportunities do not recognize boundaries or borders. The John Martinson Honors Program encourages our students to explore, produce, and practice knowledge within this global context. It offers multiple global opportunities featuring an integrated academic and experiential methodology intended to prepare students to be global citizens. And funding to make this possible.

Global Opportunities

Dialogue of Civilizations

Dialogue of Civilizations are short-term summer immersive experiences that take place across the globe. Designed and led by Northeastern faculty, they are a great way to engage with a different country in a deep and transformational manner.

Semester In / Summer In

Hosted at Northeastern’s Global Network, Semester In and Summer In are immersive experiences in which students engage in industry site-visits, alumni and networking events, guest lectures, and opportunities for co-op in region, all while taking Northeastern courses.

Honors@Monash

The Honors Program collaborates with Monash University in Australia to create a rich and unique study abroad experience for Honors students. Studies emphasize social justice issues, including racial/ethnic inequality as it has occurred in Australia.

Global Funding

Honors students are supported financially to engage globally. Students who were admitted to the Honors Program prior to enrolling at Northeastern (i.e., during the Fall of their first year) can access the Global Bank Account and the First-Year DOC Fee Waiver. Students who were admitted to the Honors Program after enrolling at Northeastern (i.e., internal admits) have access to Internal Admit Global Funding and the Presidential Global Scholarship.

All students can apply their student financial aid, including scholarship(s), to their global endeavors (Contact Student Financial Services for extent of coverage). Other funding is also available.
