Internal Admit Global Funding

Internal admit global funding is designed to be used towards approved global experiences offered by Northeastern.

These may include:

*Please note that Self-Directed Global Experiences and tuition fees are not eligible to be covered.

**Funding is limited and will NOT cover the entire experience.

To apply for Internal Admit Global Funding first carefully review the “Frequently Asked Questions” section below, then complete and submit the Internal Admit Global Funding Support Request Form.

Process for applying for Internal Admit Global Funding
  1. Get accepted into and enroll in a Northeastern-approved global experience.
  2. Submit the Internal Admit Global Funding Support Request Form.
    • This form must be submitted prior to departure on the global experience.

After submitting the Internal Admit Global Funding Support Request Form, the Honors Program will process your request. Once approved, funds will be dispersed to your MyNortheastern student account close to the start of the experience/academic term.

Deadline for Summer I global experiences: April 14th, 2024

Deadline for Summer II global experiences: June 2nd, 2024

What can I use Internal Admit Global Funding for?
  • Any Northeastern-approved global experience (see list above)
  • Program Fees (DOC Fee, ASB Fee, study abroad fees that are not tuition)
  • Airfare (economy only)
  • Visa or Passport renewal fees
  • Local transportation fees (if not included in program fee)
  • Housing (if not included in program fee)
  • Meals (if not included in program fee)
    • To estimate the amount you might need for meals, please refer to the GEO webpage for your program for guidance. Most DOC web pages have estimated additional expenses for meals, etc.
    • If this information is not provided, please research your location of travel and request a reasonable amount for meals (i.e. not eating out for every meal and having expensive meals).
  • Required Course Materials (may only include books, software, or equipment that are referenced in a syllabus or program document).
  • Other (must specify purpose)
What CAN’T I use Internal Admit Global Funding for?
  • Tuition (Financial Aid does cover tuition; consult Student Financial Services for specifics in your case-sfs@northeastern.edu.)
  • Self-Directed Global Experience
  • Global Co-Op
  • Personal travel while abroad
  • Airfare upgrades
  • Equipment/electronics not explicitly listed in a syllabus or course document
  • A domestic Co-op
How do I apply for Internal Admit Global Funding?

Eligible students may apply using the Internal Admit Global Funding Support Request Form.

How long does the application take to process?

You should apply to receive Internal Admit Global Funding once you are accepted for your global experience, but prior to departure. You cannot apply for funding for an experience you are currently on or participated in previously.

Once you submit your request form, please allow a minimum of two weeks for your request to be processed by Honors. Requests submitted considerably earlier than your global experience, e.g. at the beginning of the semester prior to the semester of your global experience, will require additional processing time.
